At the midpoint of the palmar border of the 1st metacarpal bone.
How to find
With the thumb relaxed, palpate the ‘belly’ of the thenar eminence from palmar to lateral (radial), then palpate the first metacarpal bone. LU-10 is located at the midpoint of its palmar ‘border’.➞ L.I.-4 is located on the dorsal aspect of the hand, close to the 2nd metacarpal bone.
Needling
Vertically 0.5–1 cun. Caution: Painful!
